Terms of service
Earth Made sells vessels carved to order from natural stone. These terms govern every purchase made through this store.
Made to order. Every vessel is cut from a natural block after you order. Nothing is held in stock.
Payment. Payment is taken in full at secure checkout, handled by Shopify. Nothing is ordered and no block is committed until your payment has cleared to us — that confirmation is what releases your commission to the bench.
Cancellation. You may cancel for any reason and be refunded in full within 72 hours of your payment clearing, by replying to your order confirmation. After that your block is bought and committed, cutting begins, and the commission cannot be cancelled or returned. This is why the sale is final: the piece is cut from a block selected for you and cannot be resold as stock. Your statutory rights are unaffected if a piece arrives late, damaged, faulty or not as described.
The price and what it includes. The listed price includes freight, crating, export documentation, all-risk transit insurance to full replacement value, and all import duty and customs charges. Earth Made is the importer of record: we clear each vessel in our own name and pay all import duty and customs charges before delivery. Nothing further is payable on delivery. Where we are registered to collect it, state and local sales tax is calculated and displayed at checkout before you pay; it is the only amount ever added to the listed price.
Delivery area. Checkout delivers to addresses in the United States, and the all-in price applies to US delivery only. International commissions are accepted by enquiry rather than through checkout: freight, import duty and local taxes differ by country, so they are quoted individually and confirmed in writing before any payment is taken.
Delivery and inspection. Delivery is by appointment to the ground-floor threshold. Rigging, craning, stair carries and placement within the building are excluded and are carried out by your own licensed installer. On delivery, photograph the crate before it is opened, inspect the piece before you sign, and never sign a clean delivery note where damage exists — note it on the carrier's receipt. Tell us in writing within 48 hours of delivery and keep the crate and all packaging until we confirm the piece is accepted; a transit claim depends on it.
Floor loading. Confirming floor loading is the responsibility of your own architect or structural engineer. We provide exact weight, footprint and load-spread figures at no charge.
Natural material. Colour, veining and translucency differ from block to block and will differ from every image shown. Photographs and renders are illustrative of material and form only. Natural fissures, vein lines and inclusions are characteristics of stone, not faults.
Insurance and warranty. Each vessel is insured in transit to its full declared value; that cover runs to the moment of delivery. Earth Made does not offer its own structural guarantee on the stone after delivery. Where the workshop that made your piece provides a manufacturer’s warranty, we pass it through to you in writing on that workshop’s terms — these vary by workshop and some offer none at all, so we will tell you exactly what applies to your vessel before you buy. Nothing here covers staining, chipping from impact, thermal shock, incorrect cleaning, failure to re-seal, or movement or rigging by others.
Lead times. Lead times are good-faith estimates, not guarantees. If we will miss the window you will be offered a definite revised date or a full refund — your choice, in writing and before the window ends.
