Every measurement we hold for all fourteen vessels, in metric and imperial, on one page — including the numbers that are still estimates, marked as estimates. If a figure below matters to your build, write to us and we will get it confirmed by the workshop in writing before you commit to anything.

I — The full table

Dimensions are external. Filled weight is the vessel plus water to a normal bathing depth plus one adult occupant — this is the number your floor has to carry, and it is the one most often left off a specification sheet.

II — Wall thickness, and which of these we have actually been told

Wall thickness is never uniform in a carved vessel. It is thinnest in the body and thickens toward the rim and base, because that is what survives carving, an ocean crossing and daily use. Any supplier quoting one thin number for a full-size piece is describing something moulded.

We would rather show you which figures came from a workshop and which are ours:

We asked four separate workshops what the true minimum is for onyx. Three said 50–100 mm; one said 30–35 mm. We changed our own published figures to follow the majority, which made our onyx vessels heavier on paper than they used to be. That was the honest direction to move, not the flattering one.

III — What your floor has to carry

The filled and occupied column is the number that matters, and for most of these vessels it lands between 1,000 and 1,425 kg (2,200–3,140 lb) over roughly 1.6–1.9 m².

On a ground-floor concrete slab this is rarely a question. On a timber upper floor it usually needs checking and sometimes needs work. Have your architect or structural engineer confirm the floor before you order. We will send the workshop’s measured figures for your specific piece at no charge, and we would far rather lose the order than deliver a vessel into a room that cannot carry it.

IV — Getting it into the room

Measure your route before you order, not after: doorways, stair turns, landings, lift dimensions. A vessel of 1,700–1,950 mm cannot be tilted around a tight corner the way a steel bath can — it will not flex, and it cannot be trimmed.

We deliver to your ground-floor threshold. Rigging, stair-carry, crane work and installation are not included and are yours to arrange — we will happily talk to your contractor about what is involved before you commit.

V — Every piece is filled with water before it ships

Each finished vessel is filled at the workshop and held for twenty-four hours to prove it does not seep, before it is sealed, photographed and crated. This is footage from one of our workshops of exactly that test — an unedited clip they sent us, not a studio film.

The vessel shown is a workshop piece, not one of the fourteen — we are showing you the test, not the product. You also see photographs and video of your own finished piece before it is crated. If it is not right, it does not ship.

VI — Where you stand in the sale

Transparency about the object is worth little without transparency about the transaction. In plain terms:

Seventy-two hours to change your mind. After your payment clears, either of us may cancel for any reason — you because you have thought better of it, us if the workshop or the logistics cannot be confirmed — with a full refund. After that window the block is bought and cut, and the commission is final.
Insured in transit for its full value, with the sum insured written on your order rather than left to a policy you never see.
If it arrives damaged, refuse the delivery. Do not sign for it. That refusal is what permits the insurance claim, and it is the single most important thing to remember on delivery day.
We are the importer of record. The duty liability, the customs filing and the risk of a classification dispute are ours. No customs bill follows the delivery.
The workshop warranty passes to you where one exists, on the workshop’s terms, issued in our name. We do not dress it up as our own guarantee, and we set out what it excludes.
Every figure on this page can be checked. Ask and we will send you the workshop’s own quotation and packing figures for your piece.
