Granite is the oldest, hardest stone here, cooled slowly deep in the earth until its crystals locked — charcoal shot through with flecks of silver mica. Honed to the stillness of standing water, this is the heaviest vessel in the collection, and the most immovable. Once it is set, it does not intend to move again.

Please confirm floor loading — this is the heaviest piece we make. Filled and occupied it approaches 1,455 kg (3,208 lb) over roughly 1.80 m² (19.4 ft²), which is about 165 lb/ft² — more than four times the live load a typical US residential floor is designed for. On a ground-floor slab this is rarely a question; on a timber upper floor it usually needs checking and sometimes needs work. Made to order. The price includes crating, freight, transit insurance with the sum insured stated in writing on your order, and all US import duty and customs charges. Atelier Earthmade is the importer of record — nothing further is payable on delivery. Delivered to the ground-floor threshold within the United States; rigging and installation are not included.
Ordering, cancellation and delivery. Your order is held for three days while we read the access, the floor and the route to your threshold, and confirm that plan to you in writing. Within 72 hours of payment clearing either of us may step back — you for any reason, us if the making or the logistics cannot be confirmed — with a full refund. After that window the block is bought and cut, and the commission is final unless we agree otherwise in writing.
