Once this was a tree. Over millions of years the wood gave itself up mineral by mineral and became agate, and every growth ring it grew in life is still there to read in the stone. No piece in the collection carries deeper time, and no two are alike — hollowed into a bath, it holds a whole forgotten forest in a single block.

On availability. A petrified log wide enough to hollow into a full-size vessel is genuinely rare. The piece currently offered is already carved, water-tested and photographed — write to us and we will send you photographs of the actual vessel before you commit. If it has been taken, finding the next log is what sets the longer lead time above, and we will tell you honestly what is currently obtainable rather than take an order against a block that may not exist.
Please confirm floor loading. Filled and occupied this vessel approaches 1,340 kg (2,954 lb) over roughly 2.00 m² (21.5 ft²). On a ground-floor slab this is rarely a question; on a timber upper floor it usually wants checking. Made to order. The price includes crating, freight, transit insurance with the sum insured stated in writing on your order, and all US import duty and customs charges. Atelier Earthmade is the importer of record — nothing further is payable on delivery. Delivered to the ground-floor threshold within the United States; rigging and installation are not included.
Petrified wood is a brittle material with natural fissures, and an impregnating resin is applied to seal and level the surface — this is normal for the material and is not a defect.
Ordering, cancellation and delivery. Your order is held for three days while we read the access, the floor and the route to your threshold, and confirm that plan to you in writing. Within 72 hours of payment clearing either of us may step back — you for any reason, us if the making or the logistics cannot be confirmed — with a full refund. After that window the block is bought and cut, and the commission is final unless we agree otherwise in writing.
