Basalt is lava that cooled and kept its composure — a volcanic stone so even in grain it carries no veining at all, only a deep matte charcoal. Cut from one block into the most uniform form in the collection, it holds the heat of the bath long after the water has gone still. Fire, cooled, and made to hold warmth again.

  • Material: Single-block Black Basalt (volcanic)
  • Dimensions: 1850 × 920 × 560 mm · 72.8 × 36.2 × 22.0 in
  • Wall: 60 mm / 2.4 in uniform, fixed on the drawings you approve
  • Weight, empty: approx. 900 kg / 1,984 lb
  • Weight, filled and occupied: approx. 1,362 kg / 3,003 lb
  • Lead time: 14–22 weeks from order to delivery

Please confirm floor loading. Filled and occupied this vessel approaches 1,362 kg (3,003 lb) over roughly 1.70 m² (18.3 ft²). On a ground-floor slab this is rarely a question; on a timber upper floor it usually wants checking. Have your architect or structural engineer confirm the floor before you order — we send the measured figures at no charge. Full data for the collection is on the specifications page.

Made to order. The price includes crating, freight, transit insurance with the sum insured stated in writing on your order, and all US import duty and customs charges. Atelier Earthmade is the importer of record — nothing further is payable on delivery. Delivered to the ground-floor threshold within the United States; rigging and installation are not included.

Ordering, cancellation and delivery. Your order is held for three days while we read the access, the floor and the route to your threshold, and confirm that plan to you in writing. Within 72 hours of payment clearing either of us may step back — you for any reason, us if the making or the logistics cannot be confirmed — with a full refund. After that window the block is bought and cut, and the commission is final unless we agree otherwise in writing. If the piece arrives damaged you must refuse the delivery — do not sign for it; that refusal is what permits the transit insurance claim. See terms of sale and refunds & cancellation.
